Welcome to We Will Blog You

Who would have thought that in the summer of 2004 when I visited We Will Rock You as part of my 30th birthday treat that a love affair would emerge. I had always been an admirer of the rock band Queen but following my first visit to the show my interest exploded and this has opened up so many amazing adventures including meeting many wonderful new friends, travelling to Montreux to celebrate Freddie’s birthday with fans from all over the world, attending the Queen Fan Club Conventions and not to mention the many happy hours I have spent watching numerous casts performing songs by the greatest band of all time.

I am also so lucky to have been able to experience the joys of seeing Queen + Paul Rodgers on six occasions including the emotional appearance at Hyde Park a week after the terrorist attacks in July 2005 and none of this would not have been possible without the fantastic production We Will Rock You which has been performing to sell out audiences since May 2002 and is currently the longest running production ever at The Dominion Theatre.

Why a Blog?
I have a few friends who write a blog on a regular basis and have often mentioned I should create one myself and join the world of blogging.  I was always wary about writing one as my daily life is not really exciting enough to generate a blog post every day and this quote from a recent question and answer session with Queen's drummer Roger Taylor on Queenonline.com has not made me feel any more secure about it!

Q: I’ve expected ‘Roger’s Soapbox’ for years, seriously, you’re a man so intelligent and authentic, it would be a pleasure to read it
RT: I think my soapbox would make depressing reading and frankly I find the idea slightly egocentric. I do have strong opinion on things as everybody should, but it might get a bit too nasty which would be good reason to have regretted having written it.
Roger Taylor, March 2010

However, I have decided to take the plunge and write this personal blog detailing all my visits to the show both at 'The Mother Ship' and its subsequent tours around the globe.

The Show Must Go On and so must I!
